 Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the leading IT Company announced the acquisition of Alti SA, an IT services company in France, for a value of 75 million Euros. Alti SA is a leading French technology services firm with strong expertise in IT services including enterprise solutions, assurance and CRM solutions. The acquisition will help TCS in its growth plans in France as well as other regions of Europe.

Pakistan successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable missile. The missile is known as Hatf- IV or Shaheen-1

The Madhya Pradesh government declared Malkhamb as the State Sport. Moreover the government has introduced a new scheme called Mission Olympics 2020 for special coaching to selected sports persons aiming at Olympics 2020.

Yamaha Motor, Japanese two-wheeler Manufacturer Company on announced setting up of its fifth global research and development (R & D) centre in Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Google has announced “digital will” which will instruct the search-engine giant to delete any personal data about a user from Google’s services. Moreover, it is designed to transfer other files to designated recipients, if a Google account holder wants them preserved for posterity. The service allows you to receive a notification after three, six, nine or 12 months of inactivity, depending on your settings, after which time it sends you a text message warning that the settings will take effect.

Binod Bihari Chowdhury –known for his participation in the Chittagong Armoury Raid of 1930 in the Bengal province of Bristish India – has passed away.  He was a revolutionary and a veteran member of the civil society of Bangladesh.

IMF (International Monetary fund) has cut down its 2013 forecast of world economic growth to 3.9 percentage from 4.1 percentage.

The country's first interoperable RIFD-based electronic toll system was rolled out on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai National Highway. The system would allow vehicles fitted with electronic tags to sail through six toll plazas automatically.

 The second India water week is inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee. The theme of this year’s water week is "Efficient Management of Water: Challenges and Opportunities".

Google celebrated anniversary of India’s first passenger train with a Google Doodle that appeared on Google’s homepage. India’s first passenger train was from Bori Bunder in Bombay to Thane 160 years ago. Google doodle is the Google logo with modifications that appears in its homepage. Google releases doodles to mark significant milestones in history.

Ravuri Bharadwaja is selected for Jnanpith Award 2012. He is awarded Jnanpith for his contributions to Telgu Literature.

Vodafone and ICICI Bank have launched M-Pesa, a mobile money transfer and payment service. This is a mobile wallet service that enables customers to transfer money to any mobile phone in India and remit money to any bank account in the country.

The State Government of Andhra launched a new scheme named to supply nine essential food items to poor at subsidized rates. The scheme is known as “Amma Hastham (mother's hand)”.

Nicolas Maduro Moros won the presidential election in Venezuela.

American Serena Williams was ranked number one by the WTA(Women Tennis Association). Russia’s Maria Sharapova is ranked second. Belarus tennis player Victoria Azarenka is ranked third.

Govt has decided to reduce the minimum land requirements for SEZ ( Special Economic Zones) . It is reduced to 500 acres from 1000 acres.
